OVERVIEW

OVERVIEW

Designing internal lithography simulation tools to streamline engineering workflows

I joined ASML's Brion division to lead UX research and design for a new internal simulation tool. Working closely with engineers across the USA and Netherlands, I facilitated design sprint sessions to understand complex workflows and user needs across three distinct engineer types: R&D, field, and design engineers.

Through card sorting research with 50+ features, I identified critical differences in mental models and priorities between user groups. This insight shaped a unified workspace design that consolidated fragmented interfaces while adapting to different workflow needs.

I created wireframes, interactive prototypes, and design specifications that accelerated the development timeline by 3 weeks. Additionally, I contributed to ASML's UX standards by developing guidelines for 50+ components and designing accessible navigation icons adopted across the platform.

INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE

INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE

Demo day, visit to cleanroom, and volunteering…

Beyond the project work, I presented my designs at demo day and the feedback from engineers was incredibly encouraging. I had the amazing opportunity to tour ASML's cleanroom and witness nanometer-scale semiconductor manufacturing in action. Seeing the technology that powers global chip production was absolutely mind-blowing. My summer also included volunteering with Second Harvest of Silicon Valley, where we packed food boxes for families in need. It felt great to give back to the community alongside fellow interns.
